Remote Access, Built Into Rippling Device Management

In this article
Today, we’re launching Remote Access, an integration between Splashtop and Rippling Device Management that allows device admins to securely access and control employee Mac and Windows devices directly from Rippling:
Remote desktop access, which provides full, interactive control of a user’s device
Remote terminal access (Premium), which allows admins to run command-line actions in the background without interrupting the end user
By embedding Splashtop’s industry-leading remote access technology into our platform, we’re eliminating the need for standalone tools and RMM (Remote Monitoring & Management) solutions, and bringing support workflows into the same system where IT teams already manage devices and identity.
Support devices with full context
In most tools, remote access is disconnected from the rest of IT. Sessions happen in a silo, with little visibility into who the user is, what policies apply, or what else is happening on the device.
In Rippling, every session is tied to the employee and their device automatically. That means:
Start a session directly from an employee or device record
Instantly see device health, access, and policies in the same view
Take action without leaving the system where IT already operates
You’re not just connecting to a machine. You’re supporting an employee, with full context.
One platform, fewer tools
Remote access is a core capability for IT teams, but it’s typically fragmented across disconnected tools. In building this, our goal was simple: make remote support fast, secure, and contextual.
From day one, we focused on making this both powerful and safe. Splashtop’s secure infrastructure, combined with Rippling’s policy engine and identity layer, allows admins to launch one-click sessions for troubleshooting, onboarding, or incident response while enforcing the appropriate safeguards. For example, employee approval workflows for remote desktop sessions allow companies to require user consent before a session begins. On-screen indicators ensure that employees are aware when a desktop or terminal session is active on their device. For terminal access, sessions run in the background without interrupting the end user’s experience. Session activity is captured in detailed audit logs, including admin identity, timestamps, session type, and the required session reason.
See what’s included:
One-click remote desktop sessions from Rippling: Start remote desktop sessions directly from the Devices app or device record
Remote terminal access (Premium only): Run commands directly on devices without disrupting users
User approval workflows: Require user consent before remote desktop access sessions, with optional company-wide enforcement
Unattended access support: Access idle or unassigned devices (based on company settings and permissions)
Full session audit logs: Track session start/end, admin identity, and required session reason in a centralized activity log
On-screen session transparency: On-screen indicators show when a remote desktop session is active
Session recording (Premium): Record sessions for compliance, training, or review
Because Remote Access is embedded directly into Rippling Device Management, it’s not just another tool—it’s part of your system of record. That means every session is tied to identity, device inventory, and policy context. You’re not just connecting to a machine. You’re supporting a user, with all the context you need, in a single platform. For most teams, this means you no longer need RMMs like NinjaOne or a separate remote access solution like TeamViewer or AnyDesk.
Remote Access is available as part of Rippling Device Management. Standard functionality includes remote desktop access, while advanced capabilities like remote terminal access and session recording are available with Premium.
With this launch, we’re continuing to push toward a single, unified platform for IT—where device management, identity, security, and support all live in one place.
