FAQs

You can connect an available plugin during a chat with Rippling AI or from the Plugins tab in Rippling AI settings. Once you select a plugin, you’ll be prompted to connect your third-party account. After it’s connected, Rippling AI can use that plugin in chat based on your organization’s settings and your permissions in the connected app.

Rippling AI admins decide which employees can use each plugin in the MCP Gateway. If the 3rd party app requires, an admin for that app may need to configure the MCP first in MCP Gateway before it can be made available to employees as a Rippling AI plugin. Employees with access can then connect their own account and use the plugin within the permissions they already have in the third-party system.

Plugins let Rippling AI work with third-party systems live. You can ask questions, search and retrieve data, summarize information, or, where supported, take targeted actions like sending a message or creating an issue.

Yes. With MCP Gateway, admins can control who can use each plugin and which plugin capabilities are available. That means admins can allow read-only use for some employees, while enabling write actions, like creating, updating, or sending something in a third-party system, for others.
